Our Story
A Toronto bao brand.
GoBao makes Vietnamese bánh bao in Toronto.
Bánh bao is the Vietnamese steamed bun. GoBao makes three of them — Royal, Classique and Daily — so it’s easy to choose.
It started with a seven-seater van
Three years ago, this bun had no name, no label and no brand. One person pulled a seven-seater van from nail salon to nail salon across Toronto — 500 salons — so people could taste it. It was the only way to prove a bun was good: customers came back for more.
Then came the kitchen
GoBao no longer sells from a van. We have our own licensed production kitchen in Toronto, inspected and approved by Toronto Public Health. Every bun is made to proper food safety standards: a real kitchen, real permits, real accountability.
Now it has a label
Three types — Daily, Classique and Royal — each with the weight, the ingredients and the quail egg printed right on the package. From a nameless bun to a brand with paperwork, packaging and a story behind it.
Recognized by our community
On August 28, 2026, Ao Dai Canada and Better Futures For Kids Foundation presented GoBao with two Certificates of Appreciation: one for celebrating Vietnamese arts and cultures, and one for celebrating the art, culture and cuisine of South, East and Southeast Asia in Canada. Both recognize our support while raising awareness against human trafficking and child exploitation.
We’re proud of both — not as trophies, but as proof that this brand belongs to this community.
Our vision
To help Vietnamese bánh bao find its place at tables everywhere — from a Toronto lunch break to a family dinner.
Our mission
To make Vietnamese bánh bao with care, quality and consistency in our licensed Toronto kitchen, and to make GoBao easier for more people to find, heat and enjoy.
Where we’re going
We’re not competing with pizza or burgers. We’re building a new category: the Vietnamese handheld meal. Steamed, never deep-fried. Made in Toronto.
When Toronto’s hungry, GoBao.
